Although the game never refers them as such, the three female dog courtiers are indeed called Prince's harem in the manual to the New World Computing release of Inherit the Earth: Quest for the Orb. This concept sketch from April 1993 shows one of the "harem girls" in a non-European context. At this point the breeds of the dogs may have not been determined (or wasn't communicated to the artist).
