This drawing comes from a time in the design process for Inherit the Earth: Quest for the Orb when both the form and size of telescope owned by Tycho Northpaw ("Moon Dog") was still to be determined. In the end the "light-catcher" was a hand-held device. The caption for this sketch reads:
